Looking for bathroom decor ideas? Colourful basins, copper baths and industrial-style taps are among the most popular bathroom trends for 2021.
With many of us spending more time at home than ever before, Google Trends data found that Brits are once again searching for interior trends to upgrade their spaces. In fact, searches for ‘bathroom ideas‘ doubled between early December 2020 and January this year.
To help you update your space, bathroom specialist, George Holland from Victorian Plumbing, has revealed the top bathroom trends to have on your radar, as well as how to incorporate them into your space.
1. Leaning ladder radiators
Practical but not always pretty, it can be tricky to make radiators look stylish. For 2021, however, George predicts we’ll be seeing more households tap into modern leaning ladder radiators as Brits look for contemporary and unique alternatives to stay warm.
‘These radiators can be added to any bathroom suite, including en-suites and smaller bathrooms. They also come in a variety of colours from chrome to black and white, so can work well with different colour palettes,’ he explains.

2. Colourful basins
Whether it’s zesty orange, sunshine yellow or bright green, colourful basins are the way to go in 2021 – and we’re on board with it. To really tie the look together, George advises to ‘complement your basins with matching towel sets or other soft accents to highlight your colour schemes’. If finances allow, add a matte black tap to give a sophisticated feel to the space. Now that’s one way to create a wow factor…

3. Copper baths
Looking to make a statement in your bathroom? Two words: copper bath. A real head-turner, these on-trend tubs will elevate your bathroom in an instant.
‘Freestanding baths come in a variety of shapes and sizes so can easily be added into smaller spaces or even en-suites,’ explains George. ‘Be wary of strong detergents or cleaning products as these can cause damage to the material, and make sure to use a soft cloth rather than a brush for cleaning to avoid scratches.’

4. Industrial-style taps
Inspired by metalwork and equipment found in traditional factories, industrial-style taps are also expected to make waves in 2021. As well offering a stylish edge, they work well in both modern bathrooms and more traditional suites.
‘These taps look really impressive when paired with modern freestanding baths. The contrast provided will make a statement in any bathroom,’ says George. ‘Despite being tall and imposing, their freestanding designs allow them to be fitted alongside baths of any size.’

5. Bluetooth ceiling lighting
The final bathroom trend tipped to show up more in 2021 is whip-smart lighting controlled by bluetooth. ‘Bluetooth ceiling lights can help bring a bit of smart home functionality to your bathroom,’ explains George. ‘The ability to stream audio from your phone makes showers and long soaks more enjoyable, while the powerful LED lighting works well in both light and dark bathrooms.’
