A California Bungalow Tour You Don’t Want to Miss

This bright and beautiful California bungalow, designed by the talented folks at Bone Made Interior Design, is a beautiful home. It’s one part modern, one part traditional, and absolutely lovely as far as I’m concerned. If there’s one thing I love seeing in interior design, it’s a heavy dose of contrast. A transitional space, if you will, wherein traditional elements (hello herringbone floors!) are set next to those of the more modern variety (I’m looking at you, bar stools). The juxtaposition that this creates is unlike anything else, and I will simply never tire of the results. Take a peek at the entire space in all of it’s glory below.

herringbone floors, classically modern chairs & a dreamy kitchen to start

loving the unique placement of the cabinet hardware

a traditional gold faucet helps offset the more modern kitchen elements

modern art plays nicely with the traditional elements

a moment of silence for the recessed brass detail

modern hardware + traditional cabinet fronts = magic

a moment to let the gorgeous white oak floors steal the show

a wall of custom drapery brings softness an otherwise more modern space

a modern fireplace, offset for added interest

I will never tire of cane cabinet fronts

the prettiest little built-in desk moment

playful floor tiles help offset the modern lines in this lovely bathroom

an unexpected pop of green, for good measure

There you have it. A California bungalow that’s sure to stop you in your tracks.
