Vertical Style Window Blinds Make it Easy For Some Condo Dwellers to Block Light

Vertical blinds provide a trouble-free solution to light issues in condominiums while they add a clean, modern look to the room. Vertical blinds are trouble free and easy to maintain. They hang straight and you never have any problems with bunching or sagging like you might encounter with horizontal blinds on a wide window. You do not have dust build up because there are no horizontal surfaces upon which the dust can land and stick. They are easy to manipulate, and are not heavy. Replacement of the vertical slats is also very easy to do, and they do not need to be woven into anything like you might find with other types of window blinds.

Window blinds have always been a great solution to controlling light in rooms. With vertical blinds, you have several options for controlling light while still maintaining control over the entire window area. When you roll up or down the horizontal window blinds, you will have fully open window space. When you use vertical blinds, you can allow the most light to enter the room by adjusting the blind slats perpendicular to the window. As an alternative, you can pull them part way or all the way open, which would reveal open window space, but at least you do have options for partial covering.

Vertical blinds are standard for many condominiums and other buildings where the management wants to have a nice, uniform look to the outside including window treatments. If you are living in a condominium that has already installed vertical blinds, you have window blinds with good options for light control. By adjusting the slats to the right or left, you can bend the light towards interior walls, thus cutting glare while you actually increase total amount of light in the room because the reflective surface of the wall will provide additional bounce lighting into the room. If there is a problem with too much lighting in a room, then simply adjust the slats more or fully closed to cut outside lighting out. This has a quieting effect and will also contribute to temperature control by insulating cold out and keeping warmth inside.

Window blinds were designed using both horizontally and vertically hung slats for different reasons. For wide and tall windows, the vertical blinds are best. Using horizontal blinds for extra wide windows is a problem with weight and sagging that is overcome by using the vertical blinds. For tall windows, it is easier to adjust and control the vertical blinds. Cleaning is another issue solved by using easy to clean vertical blinds. Window blinds not only enhance the look of the room, but they are very functional, for light, sound, and noise control in addition to their decorating benefits.

Both types of window blinds can be motorized for easy control. There are horizontal top valences that add design and cover up any mechanisms and top rails. These are always included. You can use stock blinds, or order custom ones that give you some additional decorating options. Wood and fabric blinds will give the most room darkening properties, and insulating effects against temperature and sound. Colors are available in some woods and vinyl window blinds, and also some patterns to coordinate with room decor.

Vertical blinds provide a trouble-free solution to light issues in condominiums, and that is why they are seen in so many large developments. Window treatments are important not only to the resident and the interior design, but to the overall impression of the building from the exterior. This is why many designers select vertical blinds as their number one choice for simplicity and beauty.
